My name is Gerold, this my 6th year as a volunteer coach with W.A.R. My mission and primary goal is to teach kids the right way to play basketball and uplift the youth all in the same sequence. I want kids to understand that there is more to life than basketball; you can be successful playing the game you love but also enjoy life after basketball.
Basketball is just a game, and my desire is for the kids to begin thinking of what their futures will be like if the passion for basketball has faded away. As a coach I believe it’s my job to give them advice while encourgaging them.

What are the qualifications to be a WAR Athletics coach?
The organization looks for people that can meet the demanding time commitment, have some knowledge of the game from playing and/or coaching, and can organize and manage practices and games. Different age levels clearly need coaches with different abilities, experiences, and outlooks.
All coaches have the responsibility to act according to the following guidelines, ensuring that W.A.R. Basketball provides safe, fun, and inclusive opportunities for people to participate with the organization. Our mission to transform children's lives through basketball threads through all aspects of participation from training to competition and support to players.
